VendorPanel is regularly asked by suppliers for visibility to a “reference number”, "user number" or "account number".
Suppliers may confuse a VP reference number with a Response ID or vice versa. This article aims to clarify both of the most commonly used references and their differences.
Please note
VendorPanel does not label any user facing metadata as "user or account IDs"
The most common “reference” type of information is likely to be either:
- The VP Reference number which is the unique ID of the request that the Buyer has posted. This information is easily available before, during and after creating a response. This reference number has a VP prefix.
- The Response ID, which is a unique number, generated upon completion of your response against a request. No other reference information is shared between yourself and the buyer other than standard business information available via your profile.
Response ID
To view your Response ID:
- Locate your response under My Responses, or if it’s a current request it should be visible on your dashboard.
- If accessing your responses from My Responses, click on All Responses.
- If accessing your responses from your dashboard, click on the You’ve responded link on the far right of the request.
- You will then be presented with a summary page. This page will show you information relating to Your Response. Next to this heading, in brackets, is your Response ID with a VPR prefix.
