To setup a VendorPanel account you will need to begin by registering on a Supplier List. If you already have a VendorPanel account and want to register on additional lists please see here: Suppliers Registering on Additional Lists.
There are three ways you can register onto a list:
- Self-registering on the Public Marketplace lists owned and managed by VendorPanel
- Being invited to register (or self-registering) on a preferred Supplier List managed by an organisation.
- Being invited to register as a Colleague to an existing profile for their company on a Supplier List.
See details below covering each option:
Registering on the Public Marketplace
The Public Marketplace is a set of Supplier Lists owned and managed by VendorPanel. These are open to the public and anyone can register on them. We share these lists with buying organisations throughout Australia who then use the lists to find Suppliers to request Quotes and Tenders from.
Before you can register a profile on the list, it's important to find out if there are any people in your organisation who already hold a profile on the list to prevent duplicate profiles for the company.
You can register on the Public Marketplace here: VendorPanel Marketplace. You need to select the relevant list and categories you want to be listed under, fill out your details, and request to register. You will then receive a confirmation email with a link to setup your account. You will need to click this link and follow the prompts to register your account and profile.
Registering on a Preferred Supplier List
Preferred Supplier Lists are lists that are owned and managed by an organisation (government or corporate) that uses VendorPanel to manage their lists. These lists are invitation only, and you must register with the relevant organisation to be added to the list on VendorPanel unless the list has a self-registration link that's been made public.
A good place to start is the Local Government Association (LGA) for the state(s) you operate in. These LGAs run various Supplier Lists that they share with councils throughout the relevant states (and territories). Councils then use these lists for finding suppliers to send requests to.
Below is a list of the LGAs:
- New South Wales's Local Government Procurement (LGP)
- Queensland's Local Buy (also used by Northern Territory councils)
- South Australia's LGA Procurement
- Victoria's Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV)
- Western Australia's WALGA
You can also contact any potential clients, such as your local councils, and ask if they run any Supplier Lists using VendorPanel that you can register on.
Once you are invited to join a Preferred Supplier List, you will receive an email notification from VendorPanel with a link to setup your account (or register the list to your existing account).
If you already have an account against the email address that has been invited, the new Preferred Supplier List will link to your current account if the invitation to register has been sent to the same email address. If it has been sent to a different email address then you would need to register an account under that email address to register on the list. Suppliers are encouraged to contact the ‘list owner’ (the organisation that runs the list) and ask them to resend the invitation to the correct email address.
Registering as a Colleague to an Existing User
If there is an existing account registered and managed by someone at your company then other people can be invited to register as a Colleague on one or more of the lists that they are managing in their accounts. The person who manages the company's profile on a list is the Vendor Admin (primary contact) for their organisation’s registration on that list. Anyone they invite onto that list is known as a Colleague.
Only the Vendor Admin can invite Colleagues onto the list. However, List Owners can send invites to colleagues on behalf of a Vendor Admin for the lists they manage. Colleagues receive the same requests/tenders that the Vendor Admin is sent and can send their own responses.
You can find instructions on how a Vendor Admin can invite Colleagues here: Suppliers Adding and Removing Colleagues. Once they invite someone to register as a Colleague of themselves on that list, they will receive an email with a link to setup their account (or register as a colleague on that within their existing account.
